Rwanda Football Federation and Imbuto Foundation are in talks to see how they can partner to fight against Malaria through the Peace Cup tournament Times Sports has learnt.The talks are ongoing between the parties, but according to sources, they do not want to make it public before anything has been agreed upon.The Imbuto Foundation Director-in-charge of fighting against Malaria, Clement Ngoga confirmed the development on Saturday."We are still in talks, nothing has been agreed yet though,” he revealed before adding that, "there are some conditions we need to agree on before signing the deal,” Ngoga told this paper.In 2011, Imbuto Foundation pumped Rwf93m in inter-schools football tournament, and this time they are targeting the Peace Cup, which has been getting support from MTN in the last two years to a tune of Rwf50m per season.Ngoga added, "In our fight against malaria, we need to sponsor more competitions that cover the entire country and it is good to have this one even if we are to reach where we wanted to be. And it also helps the development of the sport across the country.” Rwanda Football Association boss Celestin ‘Abega’ Ntagungira, in a separate interview, acknowledged that talks between the two parties are ongoing but couldn’t give more details.But he promised to have the deal sorted and signed in "two or three weeks’ time”.Also last year, Imbuto sponsored a volleyball tournament to a tune of RWf17m and Rwf11.5 million into a Karate tournament to fight malaria.
