Its 2013 and we enter the third edition of the annual Primus Guma Guma Super Star (PGGSS) contest. Today, journalists will converge at the BRALIRWA offices in Kicukiro to help select musicians to take part in this year’s competition.

Its 2013 and we enter the third edition of the annual Primus Guma Guma Super Star (PGGSS) contest. Today, journalists will converge at the BRALIRWA offices in Kicukiro to help select musicians to take part in this year’s competition.In a letter sent to all journalists, Joseph Mushyoma, the head of East African Promoters  (EAP), the organisers of the music competition, refuses to divulge how many musicians  will take part this year or when the competition will begin.‘All I can confirm now is that we have sent invitations to all journalists to help us select musicians for this year’s PGGSS. We have had a good working relation over the past events and we treat you as partners in this cause. Everything else will be communicated tomorrow and you can ask as much questions as you want,’’ explained Landry Jabo.Last year, 20 musicians were selected to take part in the Primus sponsored country tour. However, it was marred by the withdrawl of Emmy, who had to leave for the United States where he was supposed to pursue his studies. He was replaced by Urban Boyz.In its first edition in 2011, R&B musician Tom Close won it and he got the chance of doing a song "Good Time Tonight” with American R&B star Sean Kingston. Last year, King James, another R&B musician, won it and walked away with Rwf6m.Primus Guma Guma Superstar is a music contest that brings together Rwandan professional music stars competing to become a Primus Guma Guma Super Star.
