Amavubi head coach Milutin Sredojovic Micho has been snubbed by Federation of Kenya Football (FKF)  over the national football team coach job.  Apart from Micho, former Burundi coach Adel Amrouche who was unveiled as Harambee Stars coach on Wednesday in Nairobi, also beat former France coach, Raymond Domenech and Uganda Cranes’ Bobby Williamson to the job. Coach Micho whose contract with Rwanda ends this year had applied for the job though he had denied his interest in the vacant job.The Federation of Kenya Football (FKF) refuted reports that Micho ever applied for the Harambee Stars job. According to FKF media officer John Kariuki, the Serb expressed his interest in the job.Kariuki insisted that the Serb tendered his application. "Micho just like other coaches applied for the job and that is why he was considered for the shortlist,” added Kaiuki.Kenya has been without a head coach since Henri Michel quit in December and assistant Coach James Nandwa took over as a stand-in coach.Amrouche whose managerial career began in 1988 held his first major coaching position in 2002 when he coached Congolese club Darling Club Motema Pembe. He has also had other stints at lower level clubs and youth teams.His last job as head coach was at the helm of the Burundi national team. He coached them for 5 years (2007-2012) before resigning a day after leading them to a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe while negotiating qualification to the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations.The new coach is expected to take over the team and will have the immediate task of guiding Kenya in the FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria in March.
