It will not be easy but as long as everything goes according to plan, I will challenge for the title once again.”His navigator Vindevogel confirmed the car rental development on her Facebook page saying that, "Giancarlo rented the Mitsubitshi EVO X, with mechanics, from Colsoul Belgium. It will be a very interesting experience.”However, the pair has not dumped their Subaru Impreza WRX ‘Omellete’, which they say cost them the title last year. It is being repaired and will be used in other rounds of the African Rally championship which will be held in East and South African region.Previously, the Rally de Bandama of Ivory Coast never attracted competitors from East, Central and Southern Africa due to logistical challenges, and Giancarlo will be traversing untested waters as he makes afresh bid to be crowned the king of Africa.Zimbabwe pulled out of a 2013 ARC calendar citing financial constraints. The pretension contender might again be motionless after the initial 5 rounds in Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya.Last year, Giancarlo and Vindevogel finished second for a second year running behind Zambia’s Mohammed Essa in the race for the African Rally Championship title.
