As always, the place to be this evening for movie lovers is the Goethe Institute. Showing today is a 2003 German film by Neco Celik. The original German version with English subtitles runs for 83 minutes.Screening is at 6:30pm today at the Ishyo theatre in Kacyiru. Synopsis This is a feature film about young graffiti sprayers and musicians in Berlin set far outside the familiar scenery of the capital city, primarily in the world of immigrants, on the fringes of society. Urban Guerillas has many amateur actors: the characters’ language may appear rude at first but it is never mean. It is precisely this absence of the perfection that assures the director and his colleagues of unconditional spontaneity and makes the film an authentic document of multi-ethinic subculture in Berlin. Even for many German viewers, this film was an expedition into a totally unknown world.
