Editor, What better news could one get from The New Times on a Monday morning, than the fact that my country, India, has recorded the second highest number of visitors to Rwanda ?I have always maintained that this beautiful land, apart from being voted as the second most romantic country in the world, draws individuals back, again and again, with the warm, friendly and extremely helpful people God has bestowed her with.It is my firm belief that India will soon register a record number of visitors into the country. In order to attain this objective, we are even planning an INDIA WEEK 2013, which we hope to organisein May, with the full support and co-operation of the Indian Association of Rwanda, the Indian High Commission and various Government agencies like the Rwanda Development Board and Rwanda Private Sector Federation. The Indian Merchants’ Chamber has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rwanda Private Sector Federation and we do believe that with the combined efforts of all concerned agencies,India will soon be top in terms of visitors coming to Rwanda for Tourism.Clarence FernandesCo-ChairmanTravel & Tourism CommitteeIndian Merchants’ Chamber
