Lets embrace EAIC – Riepa

Rwanda Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Riepa) has called upon Rwandans to embrace next week’s East African Investment Conference EAIC as an unusual business opportunity for the country. The call was made by Riepa’s Director General Francis Gatare on Thursday evening during a dinner to present Riepa’s preparation for the conference. Gatare was speaking to trade and investment stakeholders at the Serena Hotel, Kigali where he said the conference would offer an opportunity to share investment ideas with big investors. He therefore urged them to interact with the visiting investors.

Rwanda Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Riepa) has called upon Rwandans to embrace next week’s East African Investment Conference EAIC as an unusual business opportunity for the country.

The call was made by Riepa’s Director General Francis Gatare on Thursday evening during a dinner to present Riepa’s preparation for the conference.

Gatare was speaking to trade and investment stakeholders at the Serena Hotel, Kigali where he said the conference would offer an opportunity to share investment ideas with big investors. He therefore urged them to interact with the visiting investors.

The conference which will be the first of its kind will attract over 400 worldwide business executives. The conference is being organized by Riepa and other EAC investment agencies.

Gatare said that during the conference there will be a special desk to connect local investors and visitor seeking investment opportunities in the country.  The desk will create a "one-to-one chat” opportunity for one to meet another on a one-to-one basis.

"Therefore, networking and sharing ideas is beneficial to your investment plans as well as Rwanda’s and the entire regional economic ambitions,” Gatare said.

The dinner was presided over by Minister of Commerce Monique Nsanzabaganwa.

Emmanuel Hategeka, the Private Sector Federation (PSF) Secretary General said the business community will exploit the forum to increase investments in the country.

Hategeka said with 52 per cent local investments according the investment portfolio, it is an opportunity to see them increase. He disclosed PSF is compiling a list of attendants with their profile for exchange to ease tracing of any investor for interaction.

In response, Riepa will do some quick consultations from the business community on how to address the gaps before the forum commences.
