The Ombudsman will appear before the Chamber of Deputies’ standing Committee on Political Affairs and Gender, today, to clarify on issues highlighted in the 2011-2012 report by her office. Divided in working groups of two, members of the committee have, for the past few weeks, dissected the report which they are expected to re-table before the plenary, with recommendations."The Ombudsman will come to clarify several issues that we noted during our analysis of the report; for example, there is the issue of leaders who disown their own children,” MP Yvonne Uwayisenga, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, told The New Times yesterday.  "We want to have clarity on the problem and also what are the recommendations from the Ombudsman.”The report, among others, mentions cases of leaders who disowned their children born out of wedlock.
