Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) has again launched its cultural week. Universities all over the great lakes, gather at the campus to promote this wonderful one week event. It is at this period that one can witness the true colours of Africa’s cultural diversity in one.

"The week is aimed at promoting unity and development in universities. This is an occasion to enhance youth interaction through entertainment and poetry,” said Dr. Nvunigoma.

It was also noted that this year’s cultural week is aimed at putting emphasis on culture and associate it with development and learning.

Different traditional and creative dances will continue to be presented by various universities during the culture week. A number of beautiful arts and crafts can be viewed in KIE show room.

The exhibition also has more than 10 outstanding showpieces of handwriting by Rwanda calligraphers. While entertainment has been the major part of the cultural week, some academic presentations, debates and discussion were evidenced.

Lecturers and students talked about cultures, and explained the history of the African in general and Rwandan culture in particular.
