Group CZambia      1-1   NigeriaGoalkeeper Kennedy Mweene scored a late penalty for Zambia to deny Nigeria their first three points of the Africa Cup Of Nations South Africa 2013.The Super Eagles took the lead in the 57th minute through striker Emmanuel Emenike and looked destined to collect maximum points until defender Ogenyi Owazi cynically pulled down striker Emmanuel Mayuka to give away a ridiculous penalty with five minutes left to the final whistle. It was a big slice of fortune for the defending champions, who looked short of  form and out of ideas especialy their talismatic captain Christopher Katongo, who was substituted in the second half. His replacement Collins Mbesuma didn't do himself or his team any favour when he wasted a glorious opportunity deep into the second period.Obi Mikel had missed a 27th minute penalty, after midfielder Ahmed Musa had been brought down inside the box. With both teams having drawn their opening matches, Nigeria 1-1 against Burkina Faso and the reigning African champions Zambia also held by Ethiopia by the same score line, another draw leaves the group wide open with neither Nigeria nor Zambia sure of progressing to the knockout stage of the competition. As the table stands, Zambia needs to beat Burkina Faso and two-time winners Nigeria also must get a good result against Ethiopia in the last group games to have any chance of reaching the quarterfinals stage.
