Rwanda’s golf ace Emmanuel Ruterana is reaping big from his newly acquired professional career.

According to recent statistics, Ruterana joined the ranks back in February and with just seven months into the field; the 24-year-old has competed in six tournaments earning about US$2500 (Frw1,375,000) worth of cash prizes.

However, Ruterana believes that he is still raw and is yet to realise his target, "You’re yet to see the best of me.”

"It’s barely eight months since I became a professional. My career has just started and I believe there is a lot for me to achieve,” he recently stated.

Before adding that, "For now, I’m concentrating on playing in the region but in the near future, I want to get involved in more recognised tours on the continent.”

Ruterana who is fresh from Uganda where he competed in the Ericsson and Mbarara Barclays Open tournament will make his major mark in his career when he competes in South Africa’s Sunshine tour later this month.

In his own words, this is going to be the biggest tournament of his professional career because it’s going to attract golfers from across the African continent and beyond.

"It will be an honour for me to contest with some of the best golfers on the continent. I can’t wait to make my mark,” he added.
