German MPs donate IT equipment to Parliament

GASABO - A recent delegation of German MPs which left Rwanda last week donated an assortment of IT equipment to the Rwandan Chamber of Deputies, The New Times has learnt. The machines, which include eleven computers, printers and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), were handed to Speaker Alfred Mukezapfura, during the delegation’s visit to the Lower House.

GASABO - A recent delegation of German MPs which left Rwanda last week donated an assortment of IT equipment to the Rwandan Chamber of Deputies, The New Times has learnt.

The machines, which include eleven computers, printers and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), were handed to Speaker Alfred Mukezapfura, during the delegation’s visit to the Lower House.

The equipment is worth Euro 20,000 (approx. Frw16.5m). The delegation, led by German State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Cooperation, Karinn Kortmann, also held talks with Mukezamfura and Senate president Dr. Vincent Biruta.

The team also met with members of both chambers’ Standing Committees on Budget and Economic Affairs, and discussed the role of parliament in monitoring the implementation of the national budget.
