Thirty women police officers have been equipped with knowledge in career advancement as part of the ongoing process to empower females in the institution.

The three-day training, which is the second of its kind, opened Monday in Gikondo, Kicukiro in the City of Kigali. The first training was conducted in the Eastern Province and officials said similar workshops will also be held in the other three provinces.

The workshops are organised by the Rwanda National Police (RNP) and sponsored by UNDP. The Head of Democratic Governance Unit at UNDP, Christine Umutoni, said that the training was in line with EDPRS programme, judicial reforms and gender programmes.
