POLICE FC will have nothing to lose when they make their debut in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Orange Confederation Cup according to Chairman Alphonse Katarebe.Katarebe said that his team will be looking to do well in the tournament against Burundian side Lydia Ludic Burundi Academic in the preliminary round of Africa’s second tier football competition. The first leg will be played on the weekend of February 15-17, 2013 in Bujumbura followed by the return leg in Kigali two weeks later."We have a good side but many players will be playing their first continental football. Lydia Ludic is also a strong team and we will have to perform better in the away first leg and wait to see what happens at home,” Katarebe explained."Two seasons ago, no one expected us (Police) to be playing in the Confederation Cup. Now we are here and it’s up to us to continue disproving our critics” he added.Despite losing to APR in this year’s Peace Cup final, Police secured their ticket to compete in the Confederation cup following APR’s league success in the 2011/12 Primus league season.Police will be competing for the first time in the continental competition after finishing second in the national football league last season.
