It’s wrong to stop a woman on Indian streets

Editor,It’s sad to hear that, “hopefully these students will be released soon”. It’s actually difficult even asking a female for directions at any given time.

Editor,It’s sad to hear that, "hopefully these students will be released soon”. It’s actually difficult even asking a female for directions at any given time.

This is because women here live under terror. They do not trust anyone and since they were males asking for directions. I can understand what she might have experienced. It’s not okay to stop a woman and talk to her on any Indian street.John, Kerala India.---------------------------------Until recently I did not know that India was a rape country. Honestly, something needs to be done to ensure that Indian women live safely in their own country. Why should men live more freely than women? It is unacceptable. As to the Rwandans I suggest the Rwandan Embassy to keep an eye on Indian law system. There can be some injustice based on the colour of the skin...With due respect to the Indian people, they country is not a good place to live due to impunity. I am proud to be an African today!
