Jabir Mutarambirwa scored Kiyovu’s goal in the 78th minute on penalty after his cross was adjudged to have been handled in the forbidden area by fullback Michel Rusheshangoga. The win moved the champions to 4th position with 16 points, two behind Police FC and Kiyovu, albeit with a game in hand on the leading duo.As for Kiyovu, the loss means they have now lost to all three main title contenders following defeats to Police and Rayon Sport earlier in the season.Police took full advantage of Kiyovu’s slip-up to leapfrog them into top spot with a 2-0 away win against Muhanga 0-2, while Musanze moved level with APR on 16 points with a 2-0 home win over Marine, who dropped bottom. Iranzi and Titi caused Kiyovu defence all sorts of problems. However, APR’s win was overshadowed by the sending off of their coach Eric Nshimiyimana for arguing with the assistant referee.
