More employees will strike over social security remittances

Editor,It was reported this week that workers at Kigali Professional Cleaners (KPC) based in Butare laid down their tools for several hours over alleged lack of social security cover remittances by their employer. This is unfair and must stop. Also, this is an eye opener to other employees.

Editor,It was reported this week that workers at Kigali Professional Cleaners (KPC) based in Butare laid down their tools for several hours over alleged lack of social security cover remittances by their employer. This is unfair and must stop. Also, this is an eye opener to other employees. Majority of us don't make a follow up to know whether our money is deposited. It is sad to hear that employers fail to deposit to social security body employees' contributions yet they keep deducting the money from their monthly salaries. Employers must treat workers with dignity because they need them. Teta, Nyagatare-------------------------------------Editor, I think employers who don’t deposit to social security body contributions of their employees yet they keep deducting money from their monthly salaries are corrupt and the Ministry of Public Service and Labour should investigate these employers. Who knows, maybe they use our money to do business for their own enrichment.  This is unfairMahoro, Kigali (Reaction to a story ‘Cleaning firm employees strike over social security remittances’ published on Thursday).
