RUBAVU – The Forum for Rwandan Women Parliamentarians (FFRP), has devised a five-year plan of action running from 2008-2012. The aim is to step up efforts to realise its objective of promoting gender ideals at all levels, among others.

The action plan was one of the resolutions made by the forum members during a three-day retreat at Kivu Serena Hotel in Rubavu District, Western Province.

According to FFRP president Spéciose Mukandutiye, the plan will serve as roadmap to the Forum in its quest to realise its goals over that period.

According to Mukandutiye, the major pillars in the five-year action plan are; building capacity among FFRP members, promoting cooperation between FFRP and its stakeholders and supporting various Government development programmes.

Mukandutiye said that the forum, which was created 12 years ago, had achieved a lot.

Marie Mukantabana, a Vice Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, hailed the forum members for their contribution towards national construction, notably in the fight against poverty among women and gender violence.
