AMAVUBI Stars assistant captain Haruna Niyoinzima is expected to join the team’s training today ahead of tomorrow’s international friendly match against Namibia at Amahoro stadium. The midfielder helped Yanga African finish the Tanzanian Premier League first round at the top of the table following their 2-0 win over Coastal Union on Sunday.According to Amavubi team manager Alfred Ngarambe, the former APR ace was supposed to join the camp on Monday but because his team played their game on Sunday outside Dar es Salaam, it was difficult for him to make it.Burundian striker Didier Kavumbagu scored in the 28th minute, to give the Jangwani boys a 1-0 lead over Coastal Union at halftime and Ugandan Cranes striker Hamis Kiiza scored a goal in the 63rd minute to seal Yanga’s 2-0 win, ending Coastal Union’s unbeaten run at their home ground. Mbuyu Twite, who snubbed the Amavubi call for not only tomorrow’s game but also the forthcoming Cecafa Challenge Cup in Kampala, played a key role in Yanga’s win, which puts them six points ahead of archrivals and defending champions Simba, who were relegated to third place by Azam, who have 24 points.
