National Women’s Council has urged women to start acquiring loans like their male counterparts if they are to come out of poverty.

The president of the National Women’s Council, Oda Gasinzigwa said National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) has a Frw255 million guarantee fund to help women engage in paying enterprises.

She was addressing women during the reviewing of the council’s achievements and discussing the current plan of action at St. Francois in Kicukiro last Friday.

She told the general meeting attended by district coordinators, province and the national committees that an individual can access Frw5 million, while a group or an association gets Frw10 million.

Government pays 50 per cent while women contribute 50 percent.
