Mukura’s new head coach Cedric Kaze admits that it will be difficult to win the league in his first season. But he was quick to add that it is possible. The Burundian-born coach put pen to paper on a two-year contract on Sunday to replace Emmanuel Ruremesha, who was relieved of his duties following a bad run of results.Ruremesha, who was sacked by La Jeunesse FC at the end of last season, lasted just eight games before facing another axe.Founded in 1963, Mukura has never won the league title and Kaze’s top mission, as stipulated in his contract, will be to try and change that unfancied record. However, the new coach doesn’t seem bothered by the daunting task ahead of him."We must start winning the matches, but there is need for everyone connected to Mukura to pull in the same direction. We all need to work together as a unit from top to bottom if we’re to be able to meet our expectations,” the former Atletico coach told Times Sport in his first interview. He noted, "Mukura is a good team with good players. What we need to do is to work hard and give the players the winning mentality so that we can achieve our dream.” In 2010/2011 season, Mukura, survived relegation by a whisker and defied the odds as the team finished third in the league title race last season. The Huye-based side is in 10th place in the league with 8 points, 10 points behind table leaders SC Kiyovu after eight matches.Kaze will have to wait a little longer before making his Mukura debut when his team takes on bottom side Etincelles on December 15 after the league was put on hold due to Amavubi Stars engagements.
