She may not have won the Primus Guma Guma Super Star (PGGSS) competition, but 19-year-old Young Grace thinks there was a lot she gained from just taking part.She says that what she gained gives her hope to perform even better in any other similar competition. Within only three years in the music industry, Young Grace managed to win support from the public and beat some of her seniors during the competition."I am now a very popular artiste compared to what I was before taking part in this competition. This has enabled me to get in contact with many people, including fellow musicians,” she says.Grace, who is a first year business administration student at Rwanda Tourism University College (RTUC), said the popularity and connections she got after the competition are helping her to take her music to another level."The connections I have today have enabled me to release my songs and I am planning to launch my first album before end of this year,” she says.Grace’s soon-to-be-released 15-track album is already in the works, and 10 of the songs are already complete. The rising hip hop star is widely known for her maiden single, Hip Hop Game. In an effort to cultivate a huge fan base, Grace has recorded collabos with other popular Rwandan musicians, including Jay Polly and Knowless among others.
