Hill Festival: A diverse musical celebration festival to be held in Kigali

Bringing together communities from all corners of the world, this eagerly anticipated festival will be officially launched in Kigali in August with a pool of performances of artistes from different parts of the world. Taking place for its first time in Rwanda, the Hill Festival will celebrate music and diversity.

The event is a family friendly event that brings together the best artistes in Afro pop, Reggae, Hip Hop, Jazz, Traditional African Dance and Music. The festival is scheduled to take place in the Kigali from August 4-5 at Canal Olympia, Rebero.

The festival will be headlined by artistes from different countries Rwanda, Nigeria, France, Jamaica, USA and Burundi. Each country will be represented by an artiste at the Hill Festival.

The lineup includes Kivumbi King, Bulldogg, Michaela Rabitsch, Bushali, DJ Willy William, Truth Hurts, Inner Circle, Chriss Eazy, Kenny Sol, Ruti Joel, Alta Ouses, Invasion Sound, Intayoberana and Inyamibwa. This lineup will also include an artiste from Nigeria and Burundi that have not been announced yet.

DJ Bisoso will be on the decks entertaining the crowd while The Keza and Lion Manzi will be the event’s hosts.

Luckman Nzeyimana, commonly known as Lucky, one of the organisers told The New Times that although this is the first time the Hill Festival will be held in Rwanda, it will now be held on an annual basis. He said that music enthusiasts in Kigali should expect a spectacular music experience and that the festival intends to explore the evolution of music.

The festival will bring some of the best local and international artistes in their respective music styles, coming together to give people the most unforgettable musical experience with a distinctly African feel.
