Rayon Sports defender Didier Mucyo Junior says he is not worried about being snubbed in Carlos Ferrer’s Amavubi squad for the forthcoming AFCON qualifier against Mozambique despite his impressive performance for the Blues.

Mucyo was one of Rayon Sports’ key players during the 2022/23 campaign in which the club won the Peace Cup besides finishing third in the league, just two points behind champions APR.

The talented right-back indicated that he strongly believes his time will come and for now, he will continue to wish success for fellow players summoned for the Mozambique clash.

"I am confident that I will also get my chance one day so I am not perturbed. Now, I can only wish the best to the players who have been selected and the country to win the match," Mucyo told Times Sport.

The lateral defender mentioned that it was a fantastic season for him, especially winning the Peace Cup which will see the club return to the continental stage next season after the cup earned them a ticket to the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup.

"This season has been great; it went down very well for me. I will forever cherish it," he said.

"Winning the Peace Cup is very valuable to me. It is a big source of motivation which I hope will only push me to work harder next season,” he added

Mucyo joined the Blues from Bugesera in July 2022 and he has since established himself as a key figure in coach Francis Haringingo's setup.
