Urwego Opportunity Bank (UOB) has raised over Rwf21 million towards Agaciro Development Fund.Speaking from experiences of his nation, South Korea that went through severe conflicts, Jeffrey Lee, the Chief Executive Officer of UOB, said he was happy and hailed the move taken by Rwandans to raise money to supplement foreign aid."I used to line up for food that came as a donation to my country. We helped ourselves and stopped demanding donations,” Lee explained.Ronald Nkusi, the Director of External Finance unit at The Ministry of Finance, who received the payment on behalf of the Ministry, thanked the UOB members."This is the legacy we should leave to our children rather than teaching them to be dependants on everyone and everything that would come to them with strings attached,” Nkusi said.
