Yesterday in Burunga, a man accused of having participated in the 1994 Genocide dodged Gacaca jurisdictions, and was later taken by force to court. though he was later taken to court forcefully.

Nemeye Bahizi had made no attempt to espace until Thursday, when he found coverage under an overturned wooden boat.

Bahizi later said in court that the people he had joined with to kill during the Genocide had all fled to the Congo, and being a pariah was "weighing on him.” He apologized for having hidden.

"Cases of people dodging Gacaca and fleeing to other areas are still existent though they have decreased recently,” Safari Bagina, Bwishyura sector executive.
