BGT finalist Daliso Chaponda, Teacher Mpamire to headline Seka Live Show

UK-based Malawian comedian Daliso, and Uganda’s Teacher Mpamire, are the headline acts for the upcoming Seka Live Show slated for June. Both comedians will be performing for the second time in Kigali. Daliso gained widespread recognition after his impressive journey to the finals of Britain's Got Talent. Teacher Mpamire was the first Ugandan comedian to grace the Seka Live comedy event that debuted in March, 2017.

As the show continues to bring some of the best comedians in the region to Kigali, this time round comedy fans are yet to experience an unforgettable evening of laughter filled with humor and joy at the Seka Live Show with two hilarious African comedians.

A yet-to-be confirmed lineup of local Comedians will be performing alongside the two comedians.

About Chaponda

Born November 29, 1979, Chaponda is a Zambian-born Malawian stand-up comedian living in England. In 2017, he became a finalist in the variety show Britain's Got Talent. Judge Amanda Holden used her "golden buzzer" to help him advance to the semi-finals. Chaponda eventually came third in the competition. As a result of his appearance on Britain's Got Talent, Chaponda signed with BBC Radio 4 to create a new series called Daliso Chaponda: Citizen of Nowhere, begun in 2018, totaling by 2021 twelve half-hour episodes, rebroadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra in 2022. He began his first headlining world tour ‘What the African Said’ in February 2018.

About Teacher Mpamire

Herbert Mendo Ssegujja born on September 27, 1983, is a Ugandan comedian and actor, who performs under the name Teacher Mpamire. He is most famous for mimicking the Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni. The comedian, who holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Makerere University, is also a teacher at Standard High School in Zana. Teacher Mpamire’s performances have seen him stage shows in Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania and other African countries. In 2016, he was named "discovery of year" at the Africa Youth Awards held in Accra, Ghana. He is also part of the Fun Factory cast in their weekly comedy shows at the National Theatre, in Kampala.

Several comedians have graced Seka Live comedy show since its inauguration in 2017, including Salvador, and Burundian Kigingi, Anne Kansiime, Patrick Rusine, Fally Merci, Bigomba Guhinduka, Loyiso Gola, Babu, Daniel Omara, Carl Joshua and Eric Omondi among others.
