Gakondo Connect concert to debut on June 30

In a bid to celebrate and promote Rwandan culture, a captivating new annual cultural concert dubbed ‘Gakondo Connect’, has emerged as a significant platform for showcasing the country's vibrant culture. The event is scheduled to take place on June 30, at Camp Kigali.

The concert which is set to be an annual event organized by Iganze Group, the concert will be headlined by Inyamibwa- AERG, Indashyikirwa (Gakondo Iganze) and Muyango as the guest of honor.

Lievin Niganze, the communications officer of Iganze Gakondo shared that the concert serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of preserving and promoting Rwanda's cultural heritage.

"The new annual cultural concert stands as a statement to the nurturing of the culture. We want this event to bring together young cultural artistes and those we could call legends in a full culture concert. This concert is also here to encourage the youth to love their culture as well as preserve it,” he said.

Through captivating performances of music and dance, Niganze said that the concert will also attract visitors who are interested in experiencing the vibrant and diverse culture of Rwanda. The concert is to create a memorable experience to both local and visitors as they celebrate the rich diversity of Rwandan culture.

Iganze Gakondo Group was founded in 2018 and the group now has seven members and other members who are not permanent. They sing traditionally while playing different traditional instruments like ‘Inanga’ and drums.

Expected to kick off at 5pm, the show has an entry fee of Rwf10, 000 (regular), Rwf15, 000 (VIP), and Rwf200, 000 (table of 8).
