Rwanda’s Muhire wins youth tournament with Genk

Rwandan wonder kid Ian Confiance Muhire on Sunday helped Genk to win the Vogido U14 International Tournament in the Netherlands.

Genk beat French side Lille 1-0 and Muhire, who is the skipper of the Belgian youth team, had a superb performance that played a crucial impact on his side’s victory.

Muhire was on target when Genk U14 thrashed German side Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 in their opening game before losing their second game 1-0 to Danish outfit FK Nordsjaelland.

Despite the defeat, Muhire’s side qualified to the semifinals where they pipped PSV 1-0 before beating Lille 1-0 in the final.

The Rwanda talent export, who plays in attack, was one of the revelations of the tournament thanks to his great displays over the tournament.
