Sports ministry contributes Rwf2.4million for ex-player’s treatment

THE Ministry of Sports and Culture has contributed Rwf2.4 million towards the medical bill for former Rayon Sport and SC Kiyovu midfielder Jean Chrysostom Sembagare.

THE Ministry of Sports and Culture has contributed Rwf2.4 million towards the medical bill for former Rayon Sport and SC Kiyovu midfielder Jean Chrysostom Sembagare.Sembagare, 40, recently collapsed near his home in Nyakabanda sector, Nyamirambo damaging his pelvis bone. He needs Rwf3 million to undergo an operation at King Faysal hospital.The winger played for Kiyovu junior team before moving to Rayon Sport in 1986, where he played until his retirement in 1994.Rayon Sport Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya said in a telephone interview yesterday, "Sembagare played a key role for both clubs that’s why we have also contributed towards the operation. We thank the Ministry for their generous support.”Traditional archrivals Rayon Sport and SC Kiyovu played a charity match two weeks ago and raised Rwf1.5 million which went towards Sembagare’s treatment.
