Coca-Cola league put on hold

The revamped Coca-Cola volleyball league has been put on hold until June 14-15. According to the executive secretary of the national volleyball federation Gertrude Kubwimana, the league which is heading into its fifth phase has been temporarily put on hold to pave way for the inter-school volleyball championships as well as the ‘tournoi international des disparus’; an annual event held to commemorate all 1994 victims.

The revamped Coca-Cola volleyball league has been put on hold until June 14-15. According to the executive secretary of the national volleyball federation Gertrude Kubwimana, the league which is heading into its fifth phase has been temporarily put on hold to pave way for the inter-school volleyball championships as well as the ‘tournoi international des disparus’; an annual event held to commemorate all 1994 victims.

The quarter-finals are on this weekend while the semi-finals are scheduled for next weekend.

Groupe Scolaire Rwaza, who are third on the Coca-Cola league table are one of the schools vying for honours in the championships that rolled off in February.

Rwaza take on Muramba in one of the quarter-final ties today.

Aaron Rurangirwa, one of the organisers for the championships has indicated that football, basketball, handball and netball are the other sporting disciplines lined up for championships.

The tournoi International des Disparus is scheduled for 7-8 and is expected to attract clubs from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and DR. Congo.
