AS Kigali Football Club have set an ambitious target to win the national football league in three years’ time, according to head coach Andrew Gasambugo.

AS Kigali Football Club have set an ambitious target to win the national football league in three years’ time, according to head coach Andrew Gasambugo.The Kigali City Council sponsored club will spend Rwf70m for the upcoming season and Gasambugo hopes the budget will help build a strong team for the upcoming season, and one that will be built on gradually to be in position to challenge for the league title by 2015."We are building the team around young players and if they play together for the next three seasons, they stand to gain enough experience which will steer our ambition of challenging for the league title in three years’ time,” noted Gasambugo.The club has so far signed a couple of new players including; Soter Kayumba, Patrick Umwungeli, Janvier Mutijima, Jean Paul Niyonzima, Mohamed Mushimiyimana, and Ibrahim Itangishaka, all from Sec Academy as well as former Etincelles’s striker Sylva Ochaya.The rest of the squad is comprised of Emery Mvuyekure, Patrick Rutayisire, Bodo Ndikumana, Fidèle Nduwimana, Mouhamoud Kabura, Ugandan-born Jimmy Mukumbya, Peterson Mugisha and Tom Okelo.Others are James Tubane, Marcel Lomami, Mwemere Ngirinshuti, Amini Muzerwa and Jimmy Mbaraga.
