Rwanda National volleyball team head coach Paul Bitok has underlined his wish to focus junior players for the upcoming competition on continental level. The former Kenyan international player and coach, while talking to Times Sport in a recent interview, admitted that the future of Rwandan volleyball fully lies in the hands of the young players, which is why there is need to concentrate on developing the youth teams. "Now we have a good number of quality young players playing in the league, so I believe if we continue to work hard with them like we have been doing recently, the future looks bright,” Bitok said.He noted, "A few years back we were not competing in continental youth competitions but that have been changes gradually and I hope the current crop of young players have the potential and will to do better at this level.” Officials at the Rwanda Volleyball Federation have emphasised that the country will focus more on participating in youth competitions in a bid to promote young players and help them gain experience at the international level.Groupe Officiel de Butare and Indangaburezi High Schools produce the most number of players at the youth level in the country. The next CAVB Africa Youth Championships will be held in January 2013 in Burkina Faso (boys and girls).
