Why Africans praise foreigners than their brothers?

(Reactions to a story “Why Obama cannot be more Kenyan than the Kenyans” – The Sunday Times)Editor,I wish to thank Allan for reminding us how my fellow East Africans praise someone who even fights the African values, remember the outstanding warning that Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni received due to the Bahati Bill in parliament (on homosexuality).

(Reactions to a story "Why Obama cannot be more Kenyan than the Kenyans” – The Sunday Times)Editor,I wish to thank Allan for reminding us how my fellow East Africans praise someone who even fights the African values, remember the outstanding warning that Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni received due to the Bahati Bill in parliament (on homosexuality).

Obama may be black in terms of colour but, typically, he is more of a white than the Britons.Peter Mitari, Kigali-------------------------------------Editor,I would like to say thank you to Allan for the insight, and needless to say that he was spot on. I personally find it disturbing when a cross-section of Africans think highly of Obama as if he is the savior of their problems; yet to the contrary he has more pressing issues in Washington. And, besides, it is racism to vote for and support someone because of his colour.Isaac, Bonn --------------------------------------Editor,I wish Africans especially Kenyans knew that President Barack Obama is not and will not be Kenyan or African. He is and will always be an American, his prime goals were demonstrated during his four years in office: to promote America’s interests. Let us be happy for our own African brothers and sisters who have made a difference. Surely America won’t do it for us. Great article love your work, Allan.
