POLICE FC have released all foreign players in a bid to give a chance to local players ahead of the new football league season as well as Africa Confederation Cup.The club chairman Alphonse Katarebe confirmed the development yesterday. He said, "We will use only local players next season and that is why we have decided to release all foreign players.”"We want to give a chance to Rwandan players. Though it is a tough decision which will even see our team struggle for some time, but longterm dividends will be satisfactory,” he noted. The foreign players that have been offloaded include Burundian trio of Jean d’Amour Nkurunziza, Gilbert Kaze and Harerimana Moussa, Ugandan trio of Alimansi Kadogo, Deo Othieno and Salim, and Brazilian duo of Rivaldo and Ernandez Nani.Last season, Police were close to winning the league as they finished in the second place but the team failed to win two matches out of three they were remaining with to win the first ever trophy. Police were also MTN Peace Cup finalists.
