Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) will re-brand its corporate identity on May 30th at Jali Club gardens in Kigali City.

Mary Baine, Commissioner General RRA recently described the nw logo as a lot easier to identify with. She further said that the re-brand is part of the tax body’s modernisation plan.

"It is a face lift that will project friendliness rather than just a body that is known for policing," Baine said in an interview with The New Times in her office.

By creating a corporate identity, RRA management says the move is also part of the programme to recorganise tax payers in the country.

New logo

A statement released by RRA yesterday says they have developed an abstract, subjective logo in sharp contrast to the traditional one.

When the logo is launched, the public will feel more associated with RRA.

To management, the logo is a sign that the tax body is growing and confident. They also say that it implies rejuvenation—a quality that applies not only to RRA but to Rwanda as a nation.

"We see it as representing an organisation that is aware of its role in society and aware of its responsibilities to its customers", the statement said.

As it re-brands its identity, the authority has promised to do all in its powers to assist tax payers, but also combat tax evasion.

According to the statement, the traditional RRA logo will not be scrapped. It will be retained as the organisation’s coat of arms.
