RPF youth leaders urged on development

RUSIZI — Several youth leaders mainly from the Youth League of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) Party in Rusizi district have been trained in different national development aspects.

The one-day seminar organized by the ruling party (RPF) in Rusizi took place on Monday, May 19 at Centre Pastoral conference hall in Kamembe sector. The participants were drawn from all the 18 sectors of the district.

During the workshop, the trainees were urged to always mobilize and encourage all residents especially youth to always participate in government programmes in order to foster development in the region.

Participants were also urged to encourage the youth to form up business cooperatives and start up small income generating projects that would bail them out of poverty in order to become self reliant.

"It’s should be a policy for you as concerned Rwandans who are among the youth leaders in the ruling party (RPF) to be exemplary in sensitizing and mobilizing citizens especially youth in this region towards government programmes aimed at stemming poverty," Straton Dushimirimana, of the RPF Youth League said.

He also asked participants to sensitize residents against genocide ideology and racial discrimination by promoting peace, unity and reconciliation.

Addressing the youth, MP Giovan Renzaho urged them on their role in promoting government programmes of good governance, justice, economy and social affairs. He urged them to work hard and avoid the habit of laziness.
