Let farmers join cooperatives

Dear editor, Considering the fact that our country has an agro based economy, there are a large number of farmers who do not benefit from their hard labor. Putting into consideration the long hours of digging in the gardens, planting, weeding and then many months of waiting for the harvest; when it comes to selling they venture in this by themselves and in no time they sell their goods at extremely low prices with no profits whatsoever.

Dear editor,

Considering the fact that our country has an agro based economy, there are a large number of farmers who do not benefit from their hard labor. Putting into consideration the long hours of digging in the gardens, planting, weeding and then many months of waiting for the harvest; when it comes to selling they venture in this by themselves and in no time they sell their goods at extremely low prices with no profits whatsoever.

It is unfortunate that a few of them are involved in farmers associations and cooperatives. These are very helpful when it comes to selling farmers goods at the best prices, with minimal losses and no wastage incurred. Responsible organizations need to create more awareness strategies so that many of these farmers in are not kept in the dark.
