Butare 0-3 St Mary’s KitendeRWANDA’s schools representing the country in a regional basketball and netball competition lost their opening matches at this year’s East African Post-Primary Games (FEASSA) on Sunday.The competitions kicked off on Saturday at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium in Bujumbura, Burundi.St Joseph Kabgayi was resoundingly beaten 91-53 in the girls basketball by Shimba Hill secondary school from Kenya.And it was a troublesome evening for Rwandan boys too as Burundians LND de Rohero beat Lycée de Kigali 78-70 while ETENI Rubavu lost 50-61 to Kenya’s Upper Hill.Rwanda’s only representative in netball, G.S Gahini lost 78-14 to Uganda’s Buddo secondary school.The head of Rwanda’s delegation in Bujumbura, Paterne Rwigema says, "I can’t hide or change what happened. We were dominated in our basketball and netball opening matches, but we are hoping for better results as the competitions go on.”
