He went to the KCB Golf Grand Finale as an underdog but Emmanuel Ruterana has emerged as Rwanda’s the best bet to challenge for the top cash prize after going into day three (yesterday) in second position on the leaderboard.Ruterana shot 144 on Day 1 and 2 (72, 72) while compatriot Jean Baptiste Hakizimana blamed his bad putting for carding a dismal 153 over two days.A total of 55 professionals including 33 Kenyans, 8 Ugandans, 9 Tanzanians, 2 Rwandans and 1 Ethiopian are taking part in the 4-day tournament that winds up this evening and has prize money of Rwf30m.Ruterana told this reporter yesterday morning before the start of play on third day that he would do everything possible to win his first regional title.Kenya’s Nicholas Rokoine was leading after firing 136 on Day 1 and 2. Day 3 was still in play by press time.
