Electrogaz were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Etoile de l’est as Musanze and UNR made good starts to the second division quarterfinal .

Both Etoile and visiting Electrogaz wasted numerous goal scoring chances in the first leg but they do have equal opportunities of qualifying to the semi final stage when they face each in the second leg over the weekend.

Electrogaz coach, Abdul Mbarushimana said yesterday that though they failed to march out their luck over hosts Etoile, he is hopeful of attaining maximum points when they host the Eastern Province giants over the weekend.

"We just had no luck of scoring goals but I think things will be overturned when we host them at our playing ground on Sunday,” Mbarushimana said yesterday.

A goal for either club will ensure their qualification to the semi final stage due next week.

Elsewhere, Musanze recorded a deserved victory to assure themselves a better chance of qualifying to the semifinal stage though both teams face each other in the second leg over the weekend.

Amagaju was held by Military at Kanombe grounds while Aspor suffered a humiliating defeat over hosts UNR in Butare.
