Schools start Feassa preps on August 6

Rwandan schools are set to kick off their preparations for this year’s East African post-primary games on August 6, twenty days before the championship begins in Bujumbura, Burundi.

Rwandan schools are set to kick off their preparations for this year’s East African post-primary games on August 6, twenty days before the championship begins in Bujumbura, Burundi.The National schools federation’s technical director Aaron Rurangirwa confirmed the development yesterday. He said, "Schools which will represent Rwanda in the regional games will start preparations early next month. They will be training from their respective schools until the departing date to Burundi,”"Early preparations are aimed at helping our national team claim the overall position. We want to win more trophies this year and we believe we can ensure our dream come true,” added Rurangirwa.Rwanda’s delegation to this year’s edition of regional post-primary games will be composed of 19 teams which will compete in six sports categories namely; football, basketball, volleyball, netball, handball, athletics and rugby respectively.The country will be represented by G.S Remera-Rukoma and Solidarity Academy (girls’ football), APE Rugunga and ESEG Gisenyi (boys’ football), G.S Indangaburezi (volleyball girls), G.S.O.B and Lycee de Nyanza (volleyball boys), St. Joseph Kabgayi (basketball girls), ETENI Gisenyi and lycee de Kigali (basketball boys).Others are; APAPEGI Gicumbi (handball girls), E.S Kigoma and College de Gisenyi (handball boys), G.S Gahini (handball), while ISETAR Kamonyi will compete in the boys’ rugby fray.
