Your handbag must have a disaster preparedness section

Think of that embarrassing moment when there is a big red mark on your white skirt and a male colleague sees it first then tells you about it; is one of those moments you just to hide under your desk.

Think of that embarrassing moment when there is a big red mark on your white skirt and a male colleague sees it first then tells you about it; is one of those moments you just to hide under your desk.It gets even worse when you check you handbag and there’s no sign of a pad or tampons. And the ugliest bit of it is when your female colleagues aren’t in position to help you too since they didn’t carry an extra sanitary towel. If we were well stocked for such day to day disasters we would avoid such shameful moments. One of the quickest ways to handle such unanticipated calamities is to always have a well-stocked section in your handbag. Just like many women devotedly carry their make-up and small mirror, there are other important items that have to be in your hand bag.Below are some of the things that your handbag should have in order to deal with unforeseen disasters.Sanitary towels: We already mentioned this but just for emphasis, please carry a pad or tampon just in case your periods set in when you least expect it. Your colleagues might carry one for their safety and not for yours, so don’t bank on them all the time.Pain killers: With the crazy routine at work and stress from the other issues in life a throbbing headache is sometime unavoidable. You can’t afford to rush off to the hospital when your head pounds so your best bet is to carry some painkillers for the headaches and cramps. Hand sanitizer/disinfectant: Sometimes nature calls when you’re probably running some errands around town. The nearest place to go to is those public restrooms that may at times lack soap and water. With a disinfectant in your handbag, you can be able to clean your hands.Umbrella: We can’t predict the weather. Every woman needs to carry a portable umbrella in their handbag. They come in handy during both the rainy and dry season as well.Wipes: These are useful for cleaning one’s handbags and face when something gets on you and when your hands or feet get dirty. There are other tinny things that are very helpful if you carry them such as safety pins, a nail cutter, a hankie and pocket tissue. With all this in your handbag, you will be able to handle any unpredictability.
