Rwandan Afrobeats star Kenny Sol will perform at the opening of the BAL playoffs that kicks off today in Kigali, at the BK Arena.
The renowned Rwandan musician will be performing during the game between REG BBC and Egyptian giants Al Ahly slated for today, May 20.
Kenny Sol becomes the first among many other artistes to stage during BAL playoffs that will run from May 20 - 27.
He will be performing for the first time during BAL playoffs that are coming to Kigali for the third time since 2021.
Kenny Sol, a former member of music band Yemba Voice and Igitangaza Music Label owned by Bruce Melodie, has only had about a dozen of his songs widely available to stream until now, but the 26-year-old artiste is already proving that he can reinvigorate Afrobeat and R&B for his pop audience.
He rose to stardom after producing his breakthrough songs dubbed 'Ikinyafu’ and ‘Umurego’.
All tickets for the opening game today have been sold out but the tournament will run for a week and there will surely be plenty of opportunities to follow action live at the BK Arena, even if you may have missed out on an opening day ticket.
All tickets can be bought via TiCQet with the most affordable option priced at Rwf1,250. This particular ticket gives you access to the Upper Bowl seats and the fan zone just outside of the building that will be teeming with revelers, entertainment, including DJ live sessions and performances from different local artistes.
Tickets for the Lower Bowl seats go for Rwf12,750 each, while a ticket for a third-row courtside seat will see you part with Rwf41,250. First and second-row seats are reserved for VVIPs and VIPs.
The tournament, in its third edition, has drawn eight clubs from across Africa which will be contesting for the championship.
Up to 240 TV channels, including Rwanda public broadcaster RBA and KC2, are expected to broadcast the tournament.
Tunisian side US Monastir won the second BAL edition in Kigali in May last year but will not be defending their title after they were eliminated in the Sahara Conference in March.
