CELESTIN Habineza on Saturday carded two under 70 to win the Serena hotel Quarterly Mug competition played at the Par 72 Kigali golf course, Nyarutarama.The Serena Quarterly Mug is a culmination of monthly Mugs competitions held every last Saturday of the month, and Habineza proved the most consistent after carding 5 over 76 in April and one under 71 in May to bring his average total to 217.While receiving his prize trophy from the chairman of Kigali Golf club President Dr. Richard Gakuba, a beaming Habineza promised to ‘continue his imperious form into the President’s Cup slated for next month.” Barnabas Kariuki and Jules Mutesa were second and third respectively after with average totals of 229 and 232 over three months.There were three categories involved in the tourney and they included: a children’s fray, a ladies’ category that was won by Sheetal Philip after beating off competition from Jenny Linda.Over 48 golfers including top corporate executives, army officials and children as young as 10 took part in the Serena Hotel sponsored tournament.
