Vocational Training Centre’s (VTC`s) in three provinces will soon be renovated and get new laboratory equipment to the tune of $15 million (approximately Rwf 9 billion)Wilson Muyenzi,, Project Manager, Skills Development,  at the Workforce Development Authority (WDA), said preparations to get a suitable project implementer have reached final stages.  "We are soon issuing a tender for a suitable company that will execute the work and if there are no changes according to plans, we are sure that works will start early October,” said Muyenzi.The schools to benefit include ETO Kibungo, Kirehe VTC and Kabarondo VTC in the Eastern Province.In the Northern Province, the fund will benefit the VTCs of Kabari and Kinihira alongside ESTB Busogo and ETO Kibuye in the Western Province.Muyenzi explained that equipment to be supplied will include major tools in the electronics, carpentry, and motor vehicle and electricity departments.In a related development, the Belgian Government, through Belgium Technical Cooperation (BTC), will also support nine more VTC`s in the Northern Province in the areas of infrastructure and curriculum development, capacity building in terms of training staff, among others.
