Having a dry skin with itchy, flaky and ashy symptoms is a common problem. But without hassling a lot you can have a soft, smooth and touchable skin.

The good news is that you don’t have to suffer, feel embarrassed or uncomfortable about your dry skin.

These are a few tips to help relieve, prevent rough skin and have a glowing healthy look.

Basics include getting enough rest or what your mama calls ‘Beauty sleep’ makes you look and feel good.

Have you ever thought of exercising regularly? It keeps blood circulating in the skin thus making it evaporate any toxins through sweating.

Definitely eating a healthy balanced diet especially foods rich in vitamins like fruits and greens which act as oxidants.

A daily skin care routine of gentle cleansing and moisturizing to protect the skin from the effects of the ultra-violet rays is also recommendable.

One important thing about having a healthy skin is preventing dryness. If you too short warm, showers or baths and avoid using hot water and limit yourself to 15 minutes or less in water.

Additionally avoid using harsh soaps. Anti-bacterial, deodorant and perfumed soaps are drying agents because they strip natural oils off the skin. Try using mild soaps and soap free cleansers.

Be gentle use Pat dry with a soft towel and don’t rub roughly. Use the 3-minute moisture Rule. Apply a moisturizer within 3 minutes of your bath while your skin is still damp. Choose the right moisturizer for your skin. When buying a moisturizer, check the labels and select products suitable for your skin type.

There are a variety of moisturizers in the cosmetic shops around town and before buying ensure that the product is well sealed and has a trademark to avoid buying expired or duplicate goods. Moisturize often; morning, before bed and after washing
