As part of events to mark the International Labour Day, Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) rewarded its outstanding employees.The event was held at the institution’s main campus and presided over by the Rector, Dr Jeanne d’Arc Mujawamariya."The awards should send a message to all the workers that they mean a lot to the institution and should strive to improve the services we offer,” she said. KIST staff representative, Callixte Gahunga, in his speech decried salaries that do not match the cost of living.To this, Mujawamariya said government was looking into the matter and by the beginning of next financial year, salaries would be increased. "Let both academic and administrative staff work collectively towards much better education services,” she said.
