APR boost title hopes

Defending champions APR boosted their hopes of retaining the Primus National Football League title with a deserved 2-0 win over relegation threatened Amagaju yesterday at Kigali regional stadium in Nyamirambo.

The win took Mukura to 39 points.Elsewhere, Marines thrashed bottom side Espoir 3-0 at Umuganda stadium to jump to eighth position with 25 points.On Saturday, Rayon Sports failed to close gap on rivals following a 0-1 defeat by traditional rivals SC Kiyovu. They remain in fourth place with 37 points, two ahead of the old giants whose goal was scored by Ugandan-import Julius Bakkabulindi. AS Kigali jumped out of the relegation zone with a 3-1 win over La Jeunesse. The Kigali City sponsored club is now in ninth position with 24 points.
