AN observation around town, the other day, made me fully aware of a growing financial muscle that is taking over the throne from men. Men have for time immemorial occupied this throne and it wasn’t amusing to my buddy who discovered recently that his wife rakes in more dime than he does.

The man couldn’t accept any explanation that the wife was giving during the course of being interrogated. Her reasons were simple. She kept it a secret because she feared her position as the provider would hurt his feelings, make him feel inferior, make him feel less of a man. "You know how ridiculous men are,” she told him.Of course, I rubbed it in his face, telling him how she was now the boss in the relationship, the "queen” of the hill, the master of her domain, none of which he thought was funny. But later, I tried to calm him by telling him that it’s everywhere that women are beginning to outpace men in education level, job status and income. This has led to more women being land-ladies, entrepreneurs, and CEO’s in their relationships. Now, more than ever, this gap has had an effect on relationships with women taking over legislative, executive and judicial roles. They have conquered board-rooms, sports arenas and all spheres that man had a monopoly on while having a firm grip on the homes and kitchen. Damn this!! What are men left with?? Well, my friend and I concluded that while women may be somewhat right in believing that there are some men who can’t deal with a successful lady, and who would prefer to see women in subservient roles, more and more men are getting to realize the fact that women are doing better and are more progressive than men. Women are breaking through restrictions every day, and either men accept it or get left behind. What bothered my friend the most was not that his wife brings in more than he’s making but rather her assumption that if she told him, he would get offended. He had always respected her and held her in high regard, and would continue to do so whether or not she makes more money than he does.I don’t know about you, but individually, it makes me feel good to see a lady with a good job. And if she’s making more money than I am, if she has more titles, that’s fine. Just tell me what to call her. Prof., Eng., Dr., or Amb, whatever. And if she has a company car, that’s cool too. Just as long as she lets me ride it sometimes. I might even wash it for her. If she wants to pay for dinner, go right ahead. I’m having an Indian dish that I don’t know what it’s called.  Well, I like successful ladies and so proud of the whole idea that they are finally finding a life for themselves. I’m not concerned about the minor things that surround her or the material things she believes in. I love her spirit, positive outlook, winning attitude. Am going to support her to be the best she can be. I want her to get another degree, get her promotion, get her spirit right, get her body right, get everything she wants and desires. I want to work with her, not against her.
